Explanation Writing using Etherpad

Check out our explanation writing that our group put together on a Etherpad. Each person got a different colour and could start typing at the same time which surprised a few of us!

Then this is us with our planning. We created a flowchart because it is an easy way to plan with explanation writing. We used this to then each pick a couple of the boxes of information to write about to create our group explanation on how milk is made.

  1. Hi Room 11
Wow! Your explanation writing on the etherpad looks amazing! What a great was to work collaboratively (which means together) on a piece of writing.
How did using the etherpad help you with your writing?
Was was difficult or what would you work on next time?

  2. Hi Mrs Natusch,
We feel really good using the etherpad because you can help other people with their writing. Because you can see their writing in a different colour and if you look up and see that they have made a mistake you can tell them what to fix up.
It helps with team work and you can share ideas.
If you fix up someone elses work it changes it with your colour and so that is difficult. But it shows who proof-read the work.
If you start on one line and someone else has their's underneath it might join together and it won't make sense. So to overcome this we wrote our things far apart and then put it altogether at the end.
