Making Music

We are learning about 'Sound' in Room 11. Today was a rainy afternoon so after most of the class returned from Kapa Haka we decided to make our own mini orchastra's using our bodies to create the sound of rain falling. We quickly talked about the levels of sound and how we hear different parts to the rain, the wind gathering, rain falling and sometimes we hear thunder and lightning.
Have a listen to what we created with just five minutes in our groups.

  1. Hi Room 11
What a great way to describe the weather! I really liked the way all three groups used different parts of their bodies to make the noise of a rainy, thundery day! The feet thumping on the ground was very effective and so were the whistling mouths. I didn't realise you could make so many different kinds of noises with your body.
Well done - good video preparations for presentation too.

  2. Cool rain sounds Room 11. Some sound scapes sounded like a thunderstorm and others sounded like gentle rain. What other things sre you learninG about sound?

  3. Hi room 11
What great music and sound you created using only your bodies. Very creative.
I could tell the story while listening to each of your pieces of music.
